For the week of December 21st, ABC’s “Good Morning America” averaged 4.49 million Total Viewers and a 1.5/11 among Adults 25-54. “GMA” cut into “Today’s” Adult 25-54 & total viewing leads both week-to-week (A25-54: -29%; Total Viewers: -14%) and year-to-year (A25-54: -2%; Total Viewers: -1%). This marks the smallest demo gap between the two programs in more than four months and the smallest total viewing gap in a month.
Compared to a year ago, “GMA” extended its viewing advantages over “Early Show” by 25% among Total Viewers and 15% among Adults 25-54.
Please note: Due to the Christmas holiday, all three morning newscasts were excluded from the average on Thursday 12/24 (Christmas Eve) & Friday 12/25 (Christmas Day). The weekly average for all three networks is based on three days (Monday-Wednesday).
