Asia Business Report

Asia Business ReportAsia Business Report is a business news programme produced by the BBC and is shown on BBC World News during Asian morning hours (0645, 0745, 0945 and 1145, UTC+8) in weekdays. This programme is available in Asia Pacific, South Asia and Middle East, although the 0745 edition is broadcast worldwide.

BBC Breakfast

BBC Breakfast StudioBreakfast is the BBC's flagship early morning television news programme.

The programme is on-air from 0600 every day of the year, including Christmas and public holidays. It airs until 9.15am Monday to Friday; 10.00am on Saturday and until 9.00am Sunday, although times do occasionally vary.

You can normally watch BBC Breakfast on BBC One and the BBC News Channel, although the last 45 minutes can be seen on BBC One only, Monday to Friday and tends to feature lifestyle stories.

Dragons Den

Dragons Den is a business programme where entrepreneurs pit their ideas against five well-known, and very successful businessmen and women, in a bid to gain investment in their ideas.

Contestants have what they perceive to be a viable and potentially profitable business idea but lack funding, or are already trading in their business but need additional funds for promotion or expansion. In the show, the contestants have an opportunity to present their business ideas to five wealthy entrepreneurial businesspeople, the "Dragons" of the show's title.

The Apprentice

The Apprentice is a 12-week television competition which sets a group of candidates through a gruelling series of tasks in order to win the first prize of a job as Sir Alan Sugar's apprentice, with a six figure salary.

The rules are simple. Each week, the candidates are divided into two teams and Sir Alan briefs them on the new task. The team appoints a project manager and this person is responsible for leading the task.

Working Lunch

Working Lunch is shown on BBC2 at lunchtime and it covers business, personal finance and consumer news. The programme was first shown on 19 September 1994. It has become somewhat famous for its quirky friendly style especially compared to other BBC business shows such as World Business Report, produced by BBC World News.

The title sequence involves a goldfish trying to escape from a shark onboard a sunken ship. The programme graphics also reflect this style with the background of the studio resembling water. Other graphics on the show follow a theme that is best described as "bad clipart" which adds to the quirky edge.

World Business Report

World Business ReportWorld Business Report is a television business news programme produced by BBC News and shown daily on BBC World News and the BBC News channel.

The programme forms the second half of BBC News' flagship news bulletin BBC World News at 0500 UKT, simulcast on BBC World News and the BBC News channel, but also BBC One due to the latter simulcasting also with the channel at the time of transmission.
