Lizzie O'Leary is a Washington D.C.-based correspondent for Bloomberg Television, covering politics and economic policy from the White House, Treasury Department, and Capitol Hill. O'Leary also serves as a regular panelist on "Political Capital with Al Hunt."
O'Leary has reported extensively on the global credit crisis, the housing market, the government's financial rescue package as well as the Gulf Coast oil spill disaster. In April 2010, she interviewed U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner during his two-day visit to Mumbai, India and she additionally reported on the 2009 meeting with G20 financial ministers and central bankers from southern England. O'Leary also broke the news of Chrysler entering into Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Prior to joining Bloomberg Television, Lizzie O'Leary was a producer and reporter for National Public Radio. She began her journalism career at ABC News, where she was part of the team awarded a Peabody Award for coverage of the 9/11 attacks.
O'Leary holds a master's degree, with honors, from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. She graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree from Williams College.
