Vonnie Quinn

Vonnie Quinn is a markets reporter for Bloomberg, providing reporting for Bloomberg Radio's "The First Word" and "Bloomberg Surveillance" as well as Bloomberg Television's "First Up." Based in New York City, Quinn joined Bloomberg in 2006.

After studying at University College Cork, the Sorbonne and the Université de Geneve, Quinn won the National University of Ireland's Traveling Studentship award for her master's thesis on Baudelaire. She turned down the award – and the offer of a Ph.D place at Cambridge University – in order to pursue journalism.

Quinn received an M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University, on a full scholarship from the Lorana Sullivan Foundation. While at Columbia, she was awarded the ABC Frank Reynolds fellowship and a New York Financial Writers' Association scholarship for her analytical features on The Coca-Cola Company and The Gap, Inc.

Vonnie Quinn is fluent in German, French and Irish. A former world champion Irish dancer, she holds performance diplomas in violin, piano, harp, and cathedral organ.
