The European Media and Marketing Survey for 2009 makes bad reading for Bloomberg Television, showing a hefty loss across the continent. The EMS, which samples the top 13% of adults in western Europe, focusing on decision-makers and opinion leaders, shows that since the financial crisis began last summer, the business network took a hit to the tune of 8% of its daily audience, leaving its total reach at 1.7%.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg's direct competitor in Europe, CNBC increased its figures by 30,000 viewers daily, representing a rise of 7%. The BBC's rolling news output, also enjoyed a slightly bigger rise in daily audiences.
