Margaret Brennan Interviewed by Greenwich Citizen on Her Role as Bloomberg TV Anchor

Margaret Brennan Interviewed by Greenwich Citizen on Her Role as Bloomberg TV AnchorBloomberg Television's Margaret Brennan has been interviewed by reporter Barbara Bind at the Greenwhich Citizen on her role at the business network and on covering the global economy.

Here's an excerpt;

"Brennan, who spent her formative high school years attending Convent of the Sacred Heart, got her start in TV working with former Greenwich resident and financial news legend Louis Rukeyser. She went on to work as a general assignment reporter at CNBC and contributed to MSNBC and NBC's "Today Show" and "Nightly News" before landing at Bloomberg.

"The Citizen interviewed Brennan about her life as as an on-air journalist, her approach to reporting the news, what led her down her career path and some of the more challenging and exciting interviews she has conducted."

Brennan says about her reporting from Cairo, Egypt on the day that President Mubarek stepped down;

"My assignment in Cairo was one of the first times that Bloomberg Television sent to an anchor into an area of conflict. Typically our locally based Bloomberg News bureaus handle the reporting. Since we've got 2,000 reporters all over the world, which is very unusual for a news organization these days, the local print reporters take the lead.

"However, I've done special broadcasts from various international locations including Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Dublin and London. I've also done special reports from World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland and the Gulf Coast of the U.S. during the BP oil spill."
