He's a media tycoon who created a global empire worth more than $30 billion.
This Tuesday, Bloomberg Television profiles Rupert Murdoch, who built a global media kingdom and attracted a firestorm of controversy - and bitter rivals - along the way.
Through interviews with some of Murdoch's closest associates, colleagues and friends, including Peter Chernin, former President and COO of News Corp, and David Hill, Chairman of Fox Sports, Bloomberg TV explores how Murdoch transformed his family-owned tabloid, The Adelaide News, into a global empire of newspapers, magazines, a movie studio, television stations, satellite operations in Europe and Asia, a publishing house and more.
This one-hour long special edition of "Bloomberg Game Changers" will take viewers through Murdoch's career, from Fleet Street in the 60's to the purchase of the Wall Street Journal to today's valuation for News Corp and the company's possible succession plan.
Interviews include Michael Wolff, author of the Murdoch biography "The Man Who Owns the News;" Peter Chernin, former President and COO of News Corps; David Hill, Chairman of Fox Sports; Martin Singerman, former publisher of the New York Post; Jim Ottaway, former Vice President and Director of Dow Jones; Baroness Brenda Dean, former UK union official; Sarah Ellison, author “War at the Wall Street Journal;” Garth Ancier, former President of Fox Television; Andrew Butcher, former Senior VP of Corporate Affairs and Communications and Anthea Disney, former CEO, Harper Collins.
