Ryan Chilcote is a London-based reporter for Bloomberg Television, focusing on global business and political news. An experienced markets reporter, Chilcote has covered currencies, commodities, companies and economies from around the world including Russia, Switzerland, Germany, France, Monaco, Spain, Italy, Iceland, Finland, Austria, Sweden, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Georgia, Egypt and Bahrain.
Since joining Bloomberg Television in 2007, Chilcote has covered numerous major business stories, including GM's intended sale of its European operations, the investment climate in Turkey and a 2010 extensive interview from Moscow with Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov.
Chilcote joined Bloomberg from CNN, where he was an international correspondent covering Russia and the former Soviet Union, the Middle East and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Throughout the years, Chilcote has received several awards for his work including a New York Film Festival World Medal, a Clarion Award, a Golden Pen, a nomination at the Prix Bayeux Competition for War Correspondents and an Emmy nomination for Best Story in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast.
Chilcote has a bachelor's degree in Russian studies from the University of California. He studied at Moscow State University and Yaroslavl State University. He speaks fluent Russian.
