Stephen Engle

Stephen Engle is a Beijing-based reporter covering breaking business and financial news from China and throughout Asia for Bloomberg Television.

Engle, an accomplished television reporter with more than 17 years of experience, has interviewed some of the world’s biggest political leaders including United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Engle has also interviewed business leaders including former General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner, Virgin Group Chairman and founder Sir Richard Branson, Cisco CEO John Chambers, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd. Chairman and CEO Morris Chang, ArcelorMittal Chairman and CEO Lakshmi Mittal, Nissan CEO and President Carlos Ghosn and Viacom Chairman and founder Sumner Redstone.

Prior to joining Bloomberg Television, Engle held positions with CNN, CNBC and NHK.

A native of Seattle and alumnus of Washington State University, Engle has spent the past 20 years in the Asia-Pacific region, having lived in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore and Guam.
