Today is going to be a very busy day for the world's business news channels, with a flurry of announcements and news from the corporate world,
political wrangling and earnings reports which are likely to spook global markets. Already overnight, the Asian Markets were down heavily, with HSBC's shares in Hong Kong suspended pending the announcement of a rights issue this morning, the news of which was broken on both
CNBC's
Squawk Box Europe, and also on
Bloomberg. The
BBC have also been giving a lot of time to the news that AIG is to get yet another US government bailout to the tune of $30bn. Markets in Europe and the US are expected to be very volatile, with coverage both within the world of business news television and also general news channels going to take up most of the day's news agenda.
