Thomson Reuters, one of the biggest suppliers of business news and information, particularly to
CNBC,
FBN and many others, is once again launching its own video-based business news offering, but this time, on demand. Produced video segments and reports will be available to corporate and media subscribers via a "
CNN Pipeline" style window, and not available to the public. It was rumoured that Thomson Reuters were mulling a television business network outright, but these plans have apparently now been shelved, in favour of this new on-demand offering. The system is currently being piloted with selected clients, complete with "bare-bones" television studios in their New York, London and Hong Kong bureau's, with a view to roll out the system later this year.
