London-based anchor Adrian Finighan is to leave CNN International, the network he joined at the start of 2006, sometime in October. Although an official date for his departure has not yet been confirmed, it was announced that he will return to the network on occasion in a freelance capacity.
Deborah Rayner, Managing Editor of CNN Europe and Africa sent the network's London based staff a message saying "I'm sad to announce that Adrian Finighan will be leaving us in October. After much thought Adrian has decided to explore new projects and opportunities outside CNN."
Finighan is currently attached to CNN’s flagship European prime-time business show ‘Quest Means Business’ and reports for the monthly ‘Business Traveller’ programme, for which he has also anchored special editions on ‘Budget Travel’ and ‘Carbon Offsetting’ in Norway and the Netherlands.
Prior to joining CNN, Finighan spent two decades at the BBC, with his most recent posting being based in the BBC business unit and presenting regularly on BBC World News.
