CNBC EMEA Expands Reach in Scandinavia and the Baltic States on ViasatCNBC EMEA has commenced broadcasting on Viasat in Scandinavia and the Baltic states, in a move that further extends the channel’s footprint across Europe, Middle East and Africa.
 
The agreement with Viasat Broadcasting, the leading satellite TV operator in Scandinavia and the Baltics, will see CNBC available in seven new territories: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, reaching approximately one million Viasat households.
 
As part of the agreement, Viasat will also have the rights to re-distribute CNBC to local IPTV and cable operators as part of their package to further expand the news channel’s reach.
 
“Our expansion in Scandinavia and the Baltic states through Viasat is the latest component of our ongoing strategy to aggressively grow distribution across EMEA,” said Justine Powell, Vice President of Distribution, EMEA at CNBC.  “Making our content available to an even wider audience of upscale and affluent business leaders extends our position as the premier source of business and financial news, information and analysis around the world,” she added.
 
CNBC is available to 130 million households across EMEA.  CNBC broadcasts eight hours of live programming each business day from its European headquarters in London.
