CNBC in EMEA has appointed Patrick Allen to the newly created post of Head of News at its London Headquarters, News on News can exclusively reveal.
Allen had previously held the role of News Editor at CNBC in EMEA prior to taking up his new position, having held numerous news roles across the network’s business day programming for more than 10 years.
His new post sees him take full control of the CNBC EMEA news operation across the board including on-air, CNBC.com and mobile services where he will be responsible for all news gathering, reporting, assignments and guests. Allen will also be responsible for deployment of CNBC assets across the region to cover the top business news stories of the day.
Speaking to News on News about his new role Allen said; "I'm responsible for all news intake, so anything that's involved in booking daily guests and ensuring that we have the key people on-air – so for example getting a hold of George Osborne, down to booking a great guest host for Squawk Box Europe – to forward planning or putting a truck on location.”
Patrick Allen's exclusive interview with News on News will be broadcast in full on the Media Critique podcast which will be released later this month.
