This October, MainSail looks at how some of the best sailing teams in the world stay at the top of their game, featuring the Rolex Maxi Cup in Sardinia.
Host Shirley Robertson investigates how two teams who won their respective classes last year have approached defending their titles, exploring whether it is harder to remain world’s number one than it is to make first place.
Robertson has also led the ranks having won the Olympic Gold twice, and is with the man who has won Gold at the last three Olympic Games – if he is able to repeat the performance in 2012, Ben Ainslie will be the most successful Olympic sailor ever.
The programme finds out just how Ainslie tries to stay on top of the world in the single-handed Finn class and also meets the Oracle Racing team who are out to defend the oldest trophy in sport, theAmerica's Cup.
