CNN International is inviting football fans around the world to have their say by joining the network’s live World Cup draw Skype chat taking place on www.cnn.com/connecttheworld. Connect the World’s Becky Anderson will be joined by CNN World Sport’s Terry Baddoo and former England international and Nigerian Football Association ambassador John Fashanu for a real-time conversation.
“We know there are thousands of football fans out there who are looking forward to the draw and have plenty to say about it as events unfold and we’re looking to engage them in the global conversation about this worldwide event,” says Nick Wrenn, Vice President of Digital Services, CNN International. “By giving online users a forum for discussion with sports commentators and football personalities, we are aiming to create a compelling interactive experience.”

Today’s Skype chat initiative complements the network’s robust editorial coverage of the FIFA World Cup Live Draw which includes special reports from CNN sports anchor Pedro Pinto alongside South Africa correspondent Nkepile Mabuse as they share the euphoric culmination of the grueling qualifying campaigns with viewers live on CNN International from 1600 GMT today.
