CNN Personal Finance Editor Leaving

Gerri WillisGerri Willis, the personal finance editor for CNN, is leaving the cable network after seven years, reports Kevin Allocca of TVNewser.

Allocca writes, “CNN tells us, ‘Gerri is leaving to explore other opportunities. After 7 years at CNN, she felt it was time for a change. We wish her all the best.’

“Willis has appeared on a variety of programs across the CNN, CNNI, and HLN family, including CNN’s ‘American Morning,’ since she began with the network in March of 2003, when she came over from her post at Smart Money magazine.

“In January of 2009, she began anchoring her own weekend program on CNN titled, ‘Your Bottom Line.’”

Willis was the senior financial correspondent for Smart Money magazine. She attended Columbia Business School as a Knight-Bagehot Fellow in 1991-92 and was the winner of the Excellence in Retirement Savings Reporting award for 2001, which is given by the American University School of Communication and the Investment Company Institute’s Education Foundation.
