CNN International and the internet phone company Skype, currently owned by eBay, have agreed an advertising and programme sponsorship deal which will see the company target CNN's lucrative business market. Particularly appealing is CNN International's widespead exposure to the travelling business market. The deal, which involves on air, online and programme sponsorship will target audiences in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America.
The main bulk of the deal however is surrounding the programme "Connect the World", a daily forum-style show hosted by Becky Anderson which Skype will exclusively sponsor.
This isn't the first forray into the news channel market, with advertisements airing on the UK's Sky News.
