Juan Carlos Arciniegas

Juan Carlos Arciniegas is the anchor and movie critic for Ojo Crítico, a weekly half-hour program that reviews the latest smash hits and box office bombs from the world of cinema.

He is also a producer and correspondent for Escenario, CNN en Español's half-hour news show dedicated to covering the latest in the world of entertainment.

On live reports from Los Angeles, Arciniegas brings the latest reports of the Oscars– the Annual Academy Awards. He has also covered important film festivals such as Sundance in Utah and Cannes in France.

For Escenario, he has interviewed internationally know artists like Sting, Shakira and Dido, and also the members of 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys. For Ojo Crítico, he has talked to Hollywood stars like Jennifer Lopez, Hugh Grant, Matt Damon and Sir Ben Kingsley.

Previously, Arciniegas held the position of news copy editor for the network. Before joining CNN en Español in 1997, Arciniegas worked as an assistant editor for Reuters America Inc., in Miami, Florida. Prior to this he served as a television reporter and international editor for Q.A.P. Noticias in Bogotá, Colombia, covering assignments in the United States and Latin America.

Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Arciniegas earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
