NBC News, MSNBC and CNBC won four News and Documentary Emmy Awards, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences have announced.

The News & Documentary Emmy Awards were presented on Monday, September 26 at a ceremony at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center.

“NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” won an Emmy for “Mexico: The War Next Door,” a series of compelling original reports on the 2010 drug violence in Mexico that claimed thousands of lives.

“Dateline NBC” was recognized for "America Now: Friends and Neighbors,” for its documentation of Southeast Ohio families living in poverty.

MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” picked up the award for “Good Morning, Landlocked Central Asia,” for which the broadcast traveled to Afghanistan to find out whether the U.S. military should still be there and to see what life is like for the Americans serving on the ground.

CNBC took home the award for Outstanding Promotional Announcement – Episodic for “CNBC Original: Trash Inc. - Garbage Ballet.”
