Fox News has continued to steam way ahead of its nearest rivals when it comes to viewing figures for yet another month. It is getting to a point now infact where we will have to stop comparing Fox News against the other cable news networks, and pit it up there with the big sports and entertainment networks, indeed, with it finishing third in all of cable television, behind ESPN and USA.... Oh, that's in Primetime, by the way.
In total day, across all of cable television, the network finished in fifth place, behind Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, USA and ESPN.
Back to news programming, Fox News ran away with the 13 most popular programmes in the cable news category. Unsuprisingly, the rake is led by The O'Reilly Factor, followed by Glenn Beck, Hannity, Special Report and the Fox Report with Shepard Smith.
In primetime, Fox News averaged 2.62 million viewers (total), with 714,000 of those in the key demographic.
It doesn't stop there either for Fox News, with its upward trend continuing into December, demolishing the rest of the cable news field for the Obama address on Afghanistan. The network rated at 4.5 million total viewers for the speech, statute miles ahead of the nearest competitor, that being CNN at 2.3 million.
