8.2 Million Viewers Watch the National Television Awards Live from the O2 on ITV1

NTAA peak audience of 8.2 million watched last night’s 15th National Television Awards live from its new home at London’s O2.

The ITV1 show, hosted by Dermot O’Leary, was watched by an average of 7.4 million, 30 percent share of the audience, from 7.30pm to 10.00pm – the biggest audience for the awards since 2003.

The National Television Awards are the only television awards to be 100 percent voted for by the UK public in a huge nationwide poll.  The award winners in full were:

Entertainment presenter - Ant & Dec

Drama performance – David Tennant

Serial drama – Coronation Street

Talent show – The X Factor

Special recognition award – Stephen Fry

Factual programme – Loose Women

Drama – Doctor Who

Entertainment programme – Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway

Newcomer – Craig Gazey, Coronation Street

Star travel documentary – Stephen Fry in America

Serial drama performance – Lacey Turner, Eastenders

Comedy programme – Gavin and Stacey
