ITN has extended its relationship with YouTube and is now producing a German showbiz channel called Promi411. As well as being ITN’s first ever foreign language product, it is also the first time that a UK partner has created a bespoke foreign language channel specifically for YouTube users.
Launching this week, the service features celebrity news from around the globe packaged by a dedicated German producer at ITN. ITN’s existing showbiz channel on YouTube is one of the most viewed channels on the platform and Promi411 extends ITN’s stronghold in the provision of entertainment content on YouTube.
Mark Browning, Commercial Director of ITN said: “The launch of our German showbiz channel is a fantastic example of ITN adapting an already successful product on YouTube for a new territory. We have the capability to create, localise and tailor our content to work in any market and on any platform."
Jeff Nathenson, Partnerships Manager at YouTube said: "ITN has been one of our more successful partners from Europe with news and information that is in demand by YouTube users. Once again they have shown their creativity and understanding of the platform by developing a German language entertainment news channel."
ITN has six permanent channels on YouTube which cover news, showbiz, music, books, video gaming and fun content. ITN On’s news and showbiz channels are two of the most popular channels on the site and cumulatively all six channels attract an average of 25 million views a month. The ITN Christmas Channel delivered one million views in just two months.
