MSNBC will premiere all new episodes of its popular “Lockup” franchise, “Lockup: Extended Stay—Colorado,” on Saturday, November 21st, at 10 PM ET, and “Lockup: World Tour,” on Thursday, November 26th, at 10 PM ET. “Lockup” will also celebrate its 100th episode during the “Lockup: Extended Stay—Colorado” series.
“Lockup: World Tour” is a totally new venture for the documentary series, and will take viewers to prisons that have never allowed access to television crews before. The “Lockup” team travels across seas and shatters boundaries by shooting inside maximum-security prisons in nine countries throughout Europe. On their first trip abroad, producers traveled to Serbia, Poland and the Czech Republic, followed by Scotland, Italy and Belgium. Plans for future episodes within the Middle East include filming in Israel, Jordan and Turkey.
The “Lockup: Extended Stay—Colorado” series profiles prisoners within Limon Correctional Facility in Limon, Colorado. Producers spent more than five months chronicling life inside the maximum-security prison and were granted permission to capture exchanges with prisoners that would normally be kept private. The series consists of six brand-new episodes and will air as follows:
“Lockup Colorado: There Goes the Neighborhood”—November 21st @ 10 PM ET
“Lockup Colorado: Crackdown”—November 28th @ 10 PM ET
“Lockup Colorado: The Hustle”—December 5th @ 10 PM ET
“Lockup Colorado: Homecoming”—December 12th @ 10 PM ET
“Lockup Colorado: Pain”—December 19th @ 10 PM ET
“Lockup Colorado: Love Hurts”—December 26th @ 10 PM ET
One of MSNBC’s highest-rated documentary series, “Lockup” has taped in more than 40 prisons throughout the United States and in six foreign countries (and counting). “Lockup” began nearly a decade ago, and has led to many spin-off series including “Lockup: Raw,” “Lockup: Extended Stay,” and “Lockup Investigation: Juvenile Justice.” Also coming in early 2010, “Lockup: Inside Tennessee Women’s Prison.”
