MSNBC to Air Mun2's 2010 News Special - The New America - Sunday 9th May

mun2, the leading bilingual cable network among bicultural Latinos in the U.S., announces MSNBC will air its 2010 news special, “The New America” this Sunday, May 9th at 12pm ET. Hosted by comedian/actor Anjelah Johnson, and Executive Produced by Mimi Valdes Ryan (Editor-in-Chief, Latina Magazine), the Census-driven special highlights the changing face of America by telling the empowering stories of Latinos today. Prominent Latino figures, including John Leguizamo, Tony Gonzalez (Atlanta Falcons), Allison Iraheta (American Idol pop star), Maria Celeste Arraras (host, Managing Editor, Telemundo’s Al Rojo Vivo), and many more share their inspiring journeys to the American dream.

mun2’s April 17th premiere of The New America was the network’s highest rated news special premiere to date. “The New America” marks mun2’s sixth news special.

The network received a prestigious Peabody award for its 2007 news special, “For My Country? Latinos in the Military,” a documentary exposing the trend of Latinos as the fastest-growing ethnic group in the military, and taking a close look at the options young Latinos in the U.S. face upon graduating high school, with an emphasis on the military and pros and cons of enlistment.
