Along with the show’s traditional political analysis, 'Hardball with Chris Matthews' will spotlight education during NBC News’ “Education Nation On-The-Road” tour in Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
While the “Education Nation On-The-Road” tour makes its stop in Los Angeles (May 13th-May 19th), "Hardball with Chris Matthews" will air from the city on Tuesday, May 17th.
Host Chris Matthews will lead a discussion on the challenges, potential solutions and innovations spanning the education landscape with Bill Maher, Host of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” and former FCC chairman Michael Powell, the son of General Colin Powell, the Founding Chairman of America’s Promise Alliance. Michael Powell serves as a board member for the organization in addition to his role as President and CEO of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA).
The show’s role with “Education Nation On-The-Road” is in collaboration with NBC News’ series of special reports, programming and live events for its education “power week” in each city.
MSNBC's "Hardball with Chris Matthews" portion of the "Education Nation On-The-Road" tour is sponsored by the Grad Nation campaign of America's Promise Alliance, the nation’s largest partnership organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and youth.
“Hardball with Chris Matthews” will also join "Education Nation-On-The-Road" in Matthews’ hometown of Philadelphia on June 8. Guests will be announced closer to the date. "Education Nation Philadelphia" will run from June 5th- June 11th.
