Meet the Press was the top-rated Sunday morning public affairs program for the week ending November 13, 2011, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
"Meet the Press" has now placed first in total viewers for 507 of the past 517 weeks (when everyone is at full coverage).
The NBC program attracted 3.023 million total viewers, +3% (+95,000) more than second place CBS’ 2.928 million viewers, a +30% advantage (+705,000) over third place ABC’s 2.318 million viewers, and a +165% (+1,883,000) lead over FOX News Sunday's 1.140 million viewers.
“Meet the Press” delivered an additional 1,364,000 total viewers and 660,000 A25-54 viewers with rebroadcasts -- 735,000 total viewers and 414,000 A25-54 viewers on the network and 629,000 total viewers and 246,000 A25-54 viewers on MSNBC.
In Washington, D.C., "Meet the Press" placed first in the market with 82,000 viewers (2.6/8 HH), topping the competition with +61% more than “Face The Nation’s” 51,000 viewers (1.3/4 HH), +95% more than “FOX News Sunday’s” 42,000 viewers (1.5/4 HH) and 447% ahead of “This Week’s” 15,000 viewers (0.6/2 HH).
In homes nationally, the NBC broadcast delivered a 2.2 rating and 6 share, ahead of CBS’ 2.1/5, ABC’s 1.6/4, and FOX’s 0.8/2. "Meet the Press" has now placed first in households for 609 of the past 613 weeks (when everyone is at full coverage).
Among adults 25-54, the NBC Sunday morning program averaged 1,018,000 viewers, outdelivering ABC by +26% (+210,000) and FOX by +102% (+513,000). For the week ending November 13, 2011, in rating A25-54 "Meet the Press" outperformed “This Week” by +14% (+1 tenth) and “FOX News Sunday” by +100% (+4 tenths).
Week-to-week, “Meet the Press” grew in total viewers (+1%, or +43,000), rating M/A18-49 (+20%/+20%), and rating M25-54 (+29%). “Meet the Press” also increased compared to the same telecast last season in rating W/A18-49 (+25%/+20%) and rating W25-54 (+14%).
Versus 4Q’11/season-to-date levels, “Meet the Press” was up in homes (+5%), total viewers (+6%, or +183,000), rating M/A18-49 (+20%/+20%), and rating W/M/A25-54 (+14%/+29%/+14%) while widening its advantage over Face the Nation in total viewers, rating A18-49, and rating W/M/A25-54. This season, “Meet the Press” leads “Face The Nation” by +2% (+61,000) in total viewers and is outperforming This Week by +28% (+662,000) in total viewers.
