The best Christmas present for BBC Radio 5 Live listeners is to have Alan Green back on the air.
Green has been missing in recent months, when normally he would be commentating several times a week and presenting a weekly edition of 6-0-6.
However, this year, Green has been missing due to apparent 'family' issues, which has left somewhat of a black hole in the 5 Live commentary team.
Green made a notable return however, during the Stoke City V Tottenham Hostspur game on Sunday, and broadcast his usual 6-0-6 show following the game, with his usual crass, and sometimes questionable comments, something listeners have come to love.
Hopefully Green's family issues have now been resolved, and he's back for the rest of the season, because 5 Live have missed a broadcasting legend in recent months, and to hear him on the air again is something of a yule-tide blessing.
