British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB) announced today the appointment of Andrea Zappia as Managing Director, Customer Group. Mr Zappia will join BSkyB on 1 February 2010, succeeding Brian Sullivan who was recently appointed as Deputy CEO of Sky Deutschland.
In his new role, Mr Zappia will lead BSkyB’s sales, marketing and customer operations teams, with responsibility for customer acquisition and retention across the company’s range of entertainment and communications products. Mr Zappia will report to BSkyB’s Chief Executive, Jeremy Darroch.
Mr Zappia will join BSkyB from Sky Italia, where he is currently Vice President, Sports Channels, overseeing the development of the Sky Sport portfolio of channels. Between 2003 and 2007, he was Vice President, Marketing, Promotion and Business Development at Sky Italia, with responsibilities including customer acquisition, retention and brand marketing.
Prior to joining Sky Italia in 2003, Mr Zappia held a variety of senior marketing roles at Fila, Ferrari and Procter & Gamble.
