Top-rated radio host Ray Hadley is joining Sky News Australia to present a 45 minute Tuesday night show.
Hadley is employed by the Macquarie Radio Network which own's popular radio station 2GB and MTR, a talk station in Melbourne. It is understood that an agreement is in place between the Macquarie Radio Network and Sky News Australia's head Angelos Frangopoulos to bring Hadley to a national audience. Macquarie Radio Network chief Russell Tate believes that the move with broaden the reach and knowledge of his business as well as that of Hadley.
Geoff Elliott of The Australian newspaper writes;
"Sydney-based Hadley says he is keen to expand his audience on to national TV: "I haven't done this before, I see it as a challenge and I'm really looking forward to it."
"Hadley, a one-time cab driver and auctioneer, is known to millions in NSW and Queensland for his syndicated breakfast show.
"The new show will air for 45 minutes from 8.15pm on Tuesdays and will start immediately after the Delhi Commonwealth Games, where Hadley is broadcasting for 2GB and Fox Sports.
"At Sky's studios in northwest Sydney for a rehearsal last week, it went so well Sky News chief executive Angelos Frangopoulos declared Hadley a "natural".
