Richard Keys has returned to presenting sports on television, in the form of the lead anchor for new boxing channel, Box Nation.
I watched his live coverage of the Cleverly/Bellew fight at Liverpool's Echo Arena, and it looked like he hadn't been away from our screens at all.
Keys appeared comfortable, in control, and thoroughly enjoying being back infront of the camera, even if it is considerably further up the numbers in terms of sports channels on Sky.
It goes without saying that the setup on Box Nation will be very different to what Keys is used to. Sky Sports is on the edge of broadcasting technology, with ultra-modern broadcasting systems, hi-tech studio facilities and the best technicians money can buy.
That doesn't go as a slight against Box Nation mind you, their coverage of the fight was very professional, but still lacked that 'edge' which you would expect from a Sky Sports or Sky Box Office production of a big bout.
Keys has also excelled in his new post as a radio presenter at talksport, alongside Andy Gray, but his return to television is most certainly a very welcome one.
It still amazes me as to why ESPN hasn't approached Keys and Gray to front their football coverage. The pair have added listeners to talksport, and are definately missed by the majority of Sky Sports viewers.
